Agreement Overview
This overview summarizes the main points of the Tenet® trademark agreement in plain words for your convenience. It is not part of the agreement and does not change its terms. If anything here differs from the agreement, the agreement controls. You read and sign the full agreement when you create an account.
- No fee to sign
Signing costs nothing. You owe royalties only when you sell Tenet® certified animals or semen covered by the agreement.
- Royalties apply when you sell
The rates are $300 per head for bulls, $40 per head for breeding females, and $6 per straw of semen.
- Quarterly sales reports
Send a short report of your Tenet® sales each quarter, even if you sold nothing. A simple spreadsheet by email works.
- You need the agreement before you use the Tenet® name
Each animal also needs written Tenet® certification first. That covers ads, sale catalogs, and listings on this site.
- Normal farm insurance
Keep the ranch or farm insurance that’s normal for your operation. Show proof if asked, and give 15 days’ notice before it lapses or changes.
- Inspections and records
With reasonable notice, Callipyge Genetics may inspect your facilities and your Tenet® sales records. Keep those records for five years after the agreement ends. Routine audits aren’t planned.
Selling Questions
I already signed a paper agreement. Do I need to sign again?
Yes, once. Everyone signs the Tenet® trademark agreement on this site when they create an account, including producers who signed on paper. That way every account has a signature on file. Your signed copy is made when staff approve your account. Once your account is approved, you can view, download, and print your signed copy from the Trademark Agreement page in your account.
What can I list?
Tenet® certified heifers, cows, steers, and bulls. Every animal in a classified listing has to be Tenet® certified, and you confirm that on each listing. You can also post an upcoming bull sale. A bull sale can include animals that aren’t Tenet® certified. Semen isn’t listed on this site.
How long does a listing stay up?
A classified listing runs 30 days. You get a reminder email before the end date, and you can renew for 30 more days in one click from My Listings. A listing you don’t renew comes off the site automatically. When your animals sell, mark the listing sold. A bull sale stays up until its sale date and then comes off the site.
Do buyers see my email or phone number?
Buyers never see your email. They fill out a form on your listing or sale page, the message goes to your email, and you reply to them directly. A phone number shows only if you add one to a listing or sale page. The phone number on your account is for Callipyge Genetics staff and is never shown.
When do I owe a royalty, and how do I pay it?
Signing the agreement costs nothing. The rates are $300 per head for bulls, $40 per head for breeding females, and $6 per straw of semen. Each quarter, you send a short report of your Tenet® sales, even if you sold nothing. Royalties are paid quarterly, within 30 days after each calendar quarter ends, by check, certified check, or electronic funds transfer.
